Self Cleaning

Self-cleaning surfaces can be created using the active power of sunlight, the so-called "photocatalytic effect" that breaks down organic contaminants that lead to "dirty" surfaces and growth of moulds, fungi, mosses, bacteria etc. The effect can also lead to the breakdown of ordinary stains, from red wine through to ketchup. When combined with the low adhesive nature of our material, any remaining material is simply washed away by gentle rainfall or similar.

In addition to use in outdoor applications (harnessing the power of sunlight), it is also possible to utilise specific light sources or our doped MOX product range for use in indoor applications.
