UV Protection

Protection against discolouration,
yellowing and bleaching

Joma has developed transparent coatings with reduced photocatalytic activity based on coated anatase nano-TiO2. These coatings provide UV protection and are suitable for plastics and other carbon based materials.

More specialised multi-layer coatings can act effectively as a UV filter yet provide self-cleaning properties due to photocatalytic activity.
For applications where transparency of the coating is not critical but application environment is UV aggressive (hot climates and/or high altitudes) and/or substrate material is particularly susceptible to photocatalytic degradation JOMA has developed a rutile coating formulation with strong UV filtering, and effectively no PC activity.
